Ecole d'été "statistique et économétrie" ENSAE-HEC-X à Jouy en Josas
The summer school is aimed at graduate students, professors and researchers interested in both mathematical statistics and economics. Economics is a source of interesting new problems for statisticians. Conversely, recent statistical methods, that sometimes have been motivated by other fields, can be used for quantitative analysis in economics.
The goals are as follows.
Bring together people from the statistics and economics communities. It is not required that participants have sound knowledge of both fields.
Provide mini-courses and a series of conferences, presenting cutting edge issues in an accessible but rigorous manner.
Stimulate interactions between participants in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Some free time is scheduled and residence in the castle for the whole week is encouraged.
Allow participants to present their research in an informal manner.
The main themes are (1) ill-posed inverse problems and (2) high dimensional estimation, and their applications to economics.
